Everything is thrifted, minus the purse which is from Depop!

I’ve been meaning to share this outfit for a while, but I kept forgetting to! In case you’re wondering what the heck the title is referring to, Mori Kei is a name that was given to a Japanese fashion style. “Mori” means forest, and “kei” means style. It’s supposed to look like the style of someone who lives in a little cottage in the forest or countryside. It’s a style that is no longer as popular as it used to be, but there are definitely still some fans out there!

There’s been a resurgence of Victorian/Edwardian-inspired fashion recently, and I think that fits in perfectly with mori style! I’ve had my eye on a few prairie dresses on Depop. Hopefully I’ll be able to snag one soon!

For now, this gorgeous lace dress is what I’ve been using as the base for many of my mori outfits. I like pairing it with a cardigan and some oxfords, but I decided to switch it up this day and add some boots to make it look like I was going for a wander through the woods. And the wooden box purse is a $5 Depop find- and I think it’s from the 1960s!

What do you think of mori style? I’ve adored it for years, but the traditional layered look is a bit much for Florida. I’m more of a minimalist when it comes to outfits, so my mori tends to look much more simplistic.

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend 🙂
